Provides employment counseling and on-the-job training for
consumers with learning disabilities, neurological impairments and
developmental disabilities by performing the following duties: 

Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about consumers
through records, tests, interviews, and professional sources, to
appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality
characteristics, for employment planning. 
Provides one-to-one and/or small group job training on the job
site. 
Provides crisis intervention as assigned/needed when a consumer
experiencing difficulties on the job site. 
Models appropriate/acceptable social and work skills. 
Carries out the supported work plan for Program participants. 
Completes and submits required daily and monthly documentation
according to state and federal guidelines regarding supported
employment services. 
Provides assistance with and performs mobility training for
consumers traveling to and from work as needed. 
Works with employers and consumer co-workers in understanding
needs of consumers. 
Consistently monitors the work performance of consumers through
regularly scheduled job site visits and phone contact with the
consumer and employer. 
Attends team meetings and in-service training sessions as
assigned. 
Works with all applicable Agency staff, non-agency staff and
members to assist consumers in meeting supported work plans. 
Assists other Program staff with job development/coaching needs
consumers when needed. 
Presents the Employment Services Program to area employers,
and other groups to develop an awareness of individuals with
disabilities as valued members of the workforce. 
Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic
information to aid consumers in making and carrying out employment

A Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or four years experience working with people with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience. Daily access to an automobile is required. A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable
for agency insurance coverage are required.
