SPIN is searching for an Employment Specialist who is ready to be out in the community, supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental and autism spectrum disabilities in securing a job and learning the skills necessary to maintain the job through providing on-the-job support to the individual and the employer
Responsibilities Include:
Supporting and completing assessments on people in order to create appropriate employment opportunities that are right fit and match the interests, strengths and varied skill levels of the individual
Supporting individuals in developing an employment plan, plus a portfolio and/or resume, that will achieve specific employment outcomes in an inclusive community
Assisting people with job maintenance by teaching personal and professional skills that will lead to successful employment and support the employer’s objectives and needs
Building relationships with service recipients, family members, the business community
Maintaining accurate records in regards to assessments, progress reports, pertinent employer documentation and billing of services rendered
The Ideal Candidate Will Posses:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field preferred
Two years experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or co-occurring disorders
One year of employment experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as effectively with team members
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in order to meet programmatic and customer needs
Minimum Requirements Include:
Be at least 18 years of age
Valid PA/NJ Driver’s License
Use of own vehicle
Vehicle insurance
One year of driving experience with a driver’s license
Basic computer skills- MS Office
