To provide 24 hour coverage for ALS/MICU ambulance services provided by Vidant Health and Vidant Medical Center, |
Provide ALS/MICU ambulance services by administering medical assistance at level of EMT-Basic in the transfer of convalescent patients to and from Vidant Medical Center for routine physician appointments or procedures. Accurately complete billing, documentation and clerical duties related to the position. Perform daily cleaning and general maintenance for the vehicles and equipment, and restock supplies.
High School plus less than one year of formal training or education and NC OEMS EMT certification required. NC Emergency Medical Technician certification and NC driver's license required. One to two years of experience working with a Rescue Squad or Ambulance service required.

2. Physical Demands.
a. Able to lift a stretcher with a 200 lb. person with assistance of one other staff member.
b. Front carry 25 lbs. for a distance of 25 feet.
a. High school graduate or equivalent.
b. Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
c. Minimum of two years EMS/fire experience is required.
d. Prior teaching and/or public speaking experience is preferred.
e. Current Certification by the State of North Carolina as an EMT-Basic or higher. EMT-I level is preferred.
f. Current North Carolina driver license.
1. Completes mandatory JCAHO requirements on an annual basis.
2. Maintains current NC EMT or higher certification level.
3. Maintains current NC drivers license.
4. Attends educational programs to meet departmental and/or individual objectives.
5. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills on an ongoing basis.
