I. Position Summary:
The Endoscopy Technician, under the supervision of a RN assigned room, assists with procedures, patient transportation and equipment maintenance.
II. Position Relationships:
A. Responsible to: Endoscopy RN, Charge Nurse, and Unit
B. Workers Supervised: None
C. Interrelationships: Works closely with nursing staff, Charge
Nurse, Unit Directors of Outpatient and Inpatient Surgical Services, Divisional Nursing Director Surgical Services, Physicians and other health care providers.
III. Responsibilities and Authorities:
A. Performs other duties as assigned by the department's management staff.
B. As patient care and/or Hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department.
C. Participates in and promotes the “I CARE Advantage” service philosophy of Integrity, Customer Centered, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
D. Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
E. Order weekly storeroom supplies.
F. Set up, maintains and cleans scopes and accessories.
G. Assist with procedures under the direction of the R.N.
H. Maintain a positive working relationship with peers, supervisory personnel and physicians.

K. Attendance of monthly department staff meetings (minimum of 9 per year).
High School graduate/G.E.D
Current Certified Nursing Assistant in Texas
B. Training and Experience:
1. Current BLS certification required.
2. Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire.
3. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer to department:
