Franklin Energy ServicesJOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Energy AdvisorREPORTS: Program Manager SummaryProvide energy advice and estimate savings for areas such as lighting, building envelope, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and controls for energy efficiency. Identify direct installation opportunities well possible and introduce the various prescriptive and custom incentive measures that pertain to this customer segment. Recommend or specify modifications to existing systems for participating clients. Both electric and gas measures could be involved. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Promote the energy efficiency programs to customers and trade allies, in the assigned territory. Work with building owners and property managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating in energy efficiency programs. Identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency in qualified buildings and provide follow-up as required to the customers. Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment -i.e. lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, building & pipe insulation and air sealing. Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and to manage current projects, collaborate with Energy Engineers as required. Provide a professional appearance appropriate to represent both Franklin Energy and the Utility client. Be able to work in a team atmosphere, and willing to collaborate on continuous improvement of operations year after year. Present to large and small groups, i.e. Apartment Associations, on the benefits of our program and how to get involved. When required, provide written summary reports directly to the customer, and summary reports to the client/Program Manager. QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. 2-3 years of energy efficiency and/or energy modeling experience required. Technical school degree combined with demonstrated experience in the electric/gas utility field will be considered when deciding on this position. 2-3 years experience required in the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management. Weatherization knowledge is a plus. Previous customer service experience required. Must be self-motivated, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload. Must be flexible to handle a wide work variety and work at a fast pace. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Experience in entering information in tracking systems/databases with personal computers. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure & product specification manuals. Requires effective oral and written communication skills in order to interact with customers, clients and employees at all levels within the company. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
