Edison Mission Marketing & Trading (EMMT), based in Boston, Massachusetts,
conducts price risk management and energy trading activities for its parent
organization, Edison Mission Energy (EME), based in Irvine, California.
EME is an independent power producer engaged in the business of owning,
leasing, operating and selling energy and capacity from electric power
generation facilities.

Job Responsibilities:
Generates profit through speculative trading and/or asset optimization. Serves as company’s primary interface to the energy markets and maintains industry relationships. Develops market research tools and knowledge of industry regulations. Adheres to all compliance standards and procedures.
Generates profit through speculative trading and/or asset optimization by taking independent, autonomous action that is supported by research that has been developed through maintaining industry contacts and industry knowledge and by developing proprietary research models.
Trades in physical and financial products, including forwards, spot, swaps, options, and futures.
Serves as the company's primary interface to the energy markets responsible for providing expert market information, opinions, and pricing for all other areas of the company that require this information and also for providing trade execution for all trades in the relevant term and market.
Develops and maintains counter-party and broker relationships required to provide the company with maximum market coverage in the relevant term and market.
Works closely with Optimization and Trading Strategy Group, as well as independently, to develop and maintain the research and analysis tools required for effective trading and decision making.
Maintains up to date knowledge of industry regulations and potential changes that may affect the markets.
Adheres to all administrative and compliance standards and procedures as directed by Risk Management, Market Operations, and the RVP, Trading.

Knowledge of the energy markets including but not limited to supply and demand, logistics, regulations, and operations
Ability to develop and successfully execute trading strategies
Proven ability to generate profit
Knowledge of physical commodities including electricity, natural gas, crude oil, and oil products
Knowledge of derivative financial trading products including swaps, futures, and options
Knowledge of trading contracts and contractual obligations

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions :
This is primarily an office environment with moderate to medium noise levels. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve file information and lifts and carries boxes that typically weigh less than 10 pounds.
