PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

*
Conducts thorough analysis and evaluation of applicable media, editorial/content and market research - based on defined media strategy
*
Effectively presents recommendations to client with ability to provide rationale
*
Executes and maintains day-to-day media activities including: media selection and rationale, scheduling and flowchart maintenance, insertion order placement/ billing/discrepancy reconciliation, budget analysis/contract status, rate/ positioning/merchandising negotiations, lead analysis and post-buy reporting.
*
Determine and coordinate value-added opportunities including: merchandising, publisher/editor meetings, proprietary research, media days, conferences/events, etc.
*
Lead interface with account team in coordinating projects and maintain close communication with all members of assigned account teams, including media team
*
Develops strong relationships with media representatives to keep abreast of media opportunities and industry trends
*
Interface with account services, production, and traffic teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order placement, deadlines, creative requirements and invoicing
*
Assists supervisor in all planning and administrative needs and coordinates all projects through him/her. All projects approved by supervisor

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

*
Supervise/train assistant planners and accept responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of all reporting (where applicable)
*
Contributes to key client and agency relationships on media initiatives to reinforce team’s capabilities
*
Highly conversant with software applications and seeks new and better ways to utilize technology tools.
*
Participates in new business development as needed

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 2-3 years of media planning and buying experience including both print and online.
  • Must be able to research, plan, negotiate and analyze media programs.
  • Background in business-to-business or technology marketing a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
