We are looking for a qualified, motivated individual with high precision engine building experience to assist in prototype machine builds. Our program scope involves building and testing large scale machine prototypes for product development and refinement in a fast track environment.
A complete understanding of IC engine fundamentals of operation (operating cycles, slider-crank mechanism, conventional valve actuation mechanisms, typical oiling schemes, typical cooling schemes, etc).
Technical skill set to include all aspects of engine assembly including precision measurements, gear train setup, cam timing, interference fits, fastener tightening techniques, specialty fixturing, deburring operations, parts preparation and inspection requirements.
Experience with non destructive inspection techniques including Magnaflux (ferrous) and Zyglo (nonferrous). Certification a plus, but not required.
In support of build documentation, competency in PC use and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word.
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum of five to ten years experience working with high performance internal combustion engines. Professional experience is a MUST. Hobbyists need not apply. Professional motorsports experience desirable (Indycar/NASCAR/Grand Am).
