PURPOSE: This position installs, services, upgrades, maintains and manages all aspects of the Market Data Center. This includes working with the configuration/installation/troubleshooting of Cisco DCMs, CAP 1000's BigBand BMRs, Satellite receivers, DAs, Ineoquest, Trivini, Tektronix. The position also involves analysis of MPEG and RF performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain of all signal sources: satellite, broadcast TV antenna systems, fiber ASI, Base Band systems and IP Ethernet feeds. Operate various RF, video, and optical test equipment: spectrum analyzer, RF signal level meter, waveform monitor, optical TDR, optical power meter, MPEG Analyzer. Perform installation and maintenance of satellite receivers, modulators, demodulators, scrambler/encoders and related CATV headend equipment. Performs all duties necessary to insure maximum operating efficiencies of the regional headends on a 24/7 basis and in a manner consistent with TWC policies, procedures, quality standards and all applicable local, state and federal regulations. This will include oncall rotation duties. Works in conjunction with the Regional NOC to ensure timely communication of any technical situations that affect video services (analog and digital). This includes following of the change management and incident management procedures as defined by the Regional NOC. Works closely with video analyst personnel to insure that all services are delivered to the customer on an uninterrupted and consistent basis. Interfaces with necessary personnel and vendors to insure all processes are handled efficiently and effectively. Assist in the possible implementation of new technologies or services. Review and evaluate engineering data and recommend changes to enhance technical and operating efficiency. Insure schematics and historical records for the headend are maintained to ensure that maintenance and service activities as well as compliance with regulations are documented. This includes documenting the signal distribution specifics to/from remote hubs over the transport network(s). Supports basic configurations and able to troubleshoot routine issues independently. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong Headend, RF and MPEG engineering knowledge and computer related skills necessary .

- Excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills are essential.

- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently to complete tasks, as well as in a team environment. Ability to perform multiple tasks, prioritize work/tasks and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines. Ability to resolve network problems or infrastructure issues as well as manage performance and capacity issues. Ability to plan, install and manage all aspects of a network to ensure highest performance levels on a 24/7 network infrastructure. Ability to work on-call rotation. Working knowledge of the principles in coax, fiber, and RF in both forward and return plant. Knowledge of routing protocols and LAN/WAN principles. Knowledge of HFC networks. Valid NYS driver's license.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent training, education and experience.
Minimum two years cable TV equipment field training/maintenance. Experience in current network applications and devices required. Two years previous experience in the areas of IP networks, traditional HE systems and troubleshooting techniques preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS AND FREQUENCY : Travel within the region as needed, typically up to 10%

WORKING CONDITIONS : Data center environment. Along with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions and working around electricity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Sitting for long periods of time throughout the work day.

- Use of mouse, and reading on a computer continuously throughout the work day.

- Communicating by telephone frequently throughout the work day.

- Visually able to use a computer continuously throughout the work day.

- Reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above shoulder.

- Standing, bending at knee and waist during the work day.

- Will occasionally lift up to 75lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs.

- The employee must be able to drive and while driving must not pose a threat to the safety of others.

- Overtime may be required.

Requires adherence to Time Warner Standards of Business Conduct. Position must assist in maintaining the confidentiality of customer and business data at all times.
