The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Wireless Implementation Engineer for our Network Implementation Services Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary (Broad overview/summary of the major purpose of the position and its role in the department)
Provide and/or support the implementation, readiness, and final acceptance of wireless (WiFi) networks in non-TWC owned facilities and locations. Motivated individual will need to be able to develop quality working relationships with TWC corporate, regional and vendor entities supporting deployment of TWC wireless (WiFi) solutions in venues such as sports arenas, malls, and other high-traffic areas. Individual will be responsible for ensuring available access to TWC wireless networks and ensuring that the network is sized accordingly and can support future growth. Candidate will travel regularly. Engineer will need to maintain accurate databases and financial records and provide critical infrastructure updates to management.

Essential Job Functions:
Individual must be self-starter, tactically oriented, and able to execute under pressure independently or in a team setting with a targeted focus toward positive results in support of customers' requirements. The primary function of the role is support of TWC enterprise requests for hardware installation, configuration and connectivity to TWC wireless (WiFi) networks in non-TWC owned sites such as sports arenas and malls.
The individual will be responsible for wireless network management, which will include but is not limited to:
Strong RF engineering, design and implementation background, focused around access point deployments in large venue environments. Ensure that hardware is accurately documented via as-builts. Person must also manage vendors on delivery timelines and provide concise, clear updates to senior management on milestones achieved, resetting expectations when needed.
- Flexible travel schedule to support hardware deployments in non-TWC owned facilities
- Site configuration and build out
- Wireless network product commissioning, integration, testing and troubleshooting
- Upgrade, routine inspection, audits and system diagnosis of live network
Candidate must be able to communicate across intra and inter-company boundaries stating requirements needed in support of their customer requirements.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate to senior staff and management.
Candidate must recognize when assistance from other groups or peers is required in support of solving a problem in an expedited fashion.
Job Requirements: (Specify what the employee will need (skill, knowledge & abilities) to be successful in this role):
Two years experience working with W-CDMA Radio Access Network (RAN) and a sound understanding of 3G/4G radio access technologies (GSM/UMTS).
Must possess fundamental understanding of wireless network infrastructure and devices.
Familiar with wireless protocols such as HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA.
Familiar with FTP, S-FTP, Unix, Moshell.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to identify & resolve problems.
Demonstrated experience in planning, analysis, implementation, and optimization.
Must possess strong analytical skills working within a technical environment.
Ability to develop and prepare technical documents.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: (Specify any specialized skills, certification, licenses &/or preferred qualifications):
CWNP and/or Cisco wireless certifications are highly desirable.

Education and Experience:
Level 1: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 2: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 3: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Level 4: Master's degree (M. A.) or higher; or equivalent training, education and experience.
