DESCRIPTION

Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of (discipline) engineering principles and practices. Makes decisions independently. Applies advanced techniques and methods as required. Suggests, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems. Independently performs most assignments. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems. Generally plans work and meets deadlines without supervisor action. Supervision is both technical and administrative. Coordinates the activities of a team of engineers assigned to a project or technically supervises the work of other discipline engineers. Provides technical supervision of the day-to-day activities of task assigned (non-project-dedicated) personnel.Performs in one or more of the following capacities: Plans, manages and coordinates the engineering activities on medium to large projects. Serves as the focal point for and manages the day-to-day engineering activities on assigned project (or portion thereof). Oversees, monitors and manages the day-to-day engineering activities on assigned project for compliance with budget and schedule. Suggests and implements corrective actions as necessary to achieve expected results. Monitors performance and productivity of project assigned engineering resources and provides feedback to employee's supervisor. Monitors adequacy of staffing on assigned project and works with resource managers to make necessary adjustments. Reviews all engineering documentation for compliance with contract requirements. Suggests new methods, procedures and work processes to continuously improve the project execution work process. Is cognizant and aware of the commercial implications of decisions and engineering activities. Keeps project manager well informed about engineer progress and problems. Prepares requisitions for purchased equipment and coordinates and interfaces with equipment suppliers. Reviews and approves technical evaluations of supplier's proposals. Captures customer feedback and lessons learned and recommends product and work process improvements to improve future offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors or Masters Degree with 10+ years. PE registration preferred; or equivalent level of education/experience.
