Utah State University Research Foundation is actively looking for an under-graduate or graduate student of at least junior level standing with an engineering, mathematics, computer science, or physics background to work at the Space Dynamic Lab in the field of Atmospheric Remote Sounding. Responsibilities include creating software tools for analyzing and interpreting multi-instrument ground-, aircraft-, and satellite-based datasets to retrieve geophysical atmospheric, surface and aerosol parameters.

The successful candidate will need to access complex datasets and assimilate into existing and new software packages. Analysis is primarily performed using Matlab script files and GUIs with underlying software that is written in C++ and Fortran. Both Windows and Linux platforms are used. Multi-platform understanding is helpful.

Candidate will have access to SDL’s atmospheric science team for assistance on research.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or a lawful permanent resident of U.S.
