Experienced engineer to provide Echelon 1 (E1) maintenance support to maintain high priority operational
systems at a high level of availability and to resolve problems based on mission criticality and guidance. Using a
complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field, the
selected individual will perform maintenance and technical solutions on a variety of systems running on a variety
of operating systems. Receiving only general direction the selected individual will independently determine and
develop approaches to solutions while working with other E1 maintenance engineers across multiple locations to
provide enterprise support to customers and customer representatives. The environment will fluctuate between
routine and urgent, depending on tasking, priorities, and performance of assigned systems. Individual performer
will need to provide solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical and consistent with the organizational
objectives. Technical problems encountered will be routine, varied and sometimes difficult and will require
breadth in technical scope with little assistance and oversight. Applicant must be able to work between the core
hours of 0900-1500 and support after hour call-ins.People Skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment Team player who is able to support systems engineering groups as required
for ongoing analysis and integration efforts. Able to mentor co-workers on system maintenance.

B.S. Degree plus 2 years experience or 6 years experience with a high schoool diploma.
Must have experience with one or more of the following operating systems: AIX, Linux, Solaris MS Windows-XP, MS Windows-NT, MS Windows Vista.
Must be able to use test equipment to include Volt Meters, Power Meters, O-Scopes, and Protocol Analyzers.
Must be able to perform the following E1 tasks:
Analyze, diagnose and isolate failures to software process executables. Cycle processes as required to restore the
system to operations.
Perform reboots of computer systems.Recycle and reload application and COT/GOTS software to reconstitute an operational baseline.
Coordinate with associate contractors for required IT maintenance support.
Analyze, diagnose and isolate hardware failures to LRU. Replace failed LRU and verify system operability prior to
returning the system to operations.
Coordinate with Operations to schedule and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
Perform basic System Administration functions.
Initiate and document/track return or repair of hardware items.
Execute inventory management and property control.
Support the integration, installation and test of new or modified capabilities.
Support system monitoring.
Review RFCs, CDRLs to assess impacts.
