The Chemical Process Engineer will support the commercialization of innovative process chromatography products including scale-up, process optimization, technology transfers and process validation activities. The Chemical Process Engineer will be part of a multifunctional team that will develop, implement, and qualify robust, high quality, cost effective processes for manufacturing. The Chemical Process Engineer will provide engineering support for manufacturing by troubleshooting equipment and controls systems and leading cost reduction projects.
Summary of essential job functions:
Develop and draft equipment specifications and operating procedures. Interface with various departments and customers to ensure smooth scale-up and technology transfer. Specify, install and troubleshoot process control system. Support a variety of new and existing chemical processes by generating process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, piping and instrumentation drawings and pre-operations packages including HAZOP’s and risk assessments (FMEA). Monitor and improve process capability using Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
The position requires a BS or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at 5-10 years experience in manufacturing, product design or process development. Strong understanding of ISO9001 a must with ISO13485 and GMP experience preferred. Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodology and clean room operation.
Working knowledge liquid chromatography methods and systems. The ideal candidate must be able to form strong relationships with internal customers, and be able to innovate and anticipate needs and problems while creating solutions.
