This position will provide engineering support to the area assigned for expansion projects, extension and rebuilds; relocations, or system enhancements and assist with operating the electric and natural gas utilities. This position will also be on-call periodically throughout the year.

· Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy’s values, mission, and strategic business objectives
· Will require supervisory skills and will oversee Contract and Company construction crews and supervise projects
· Design electric and/or natural gas facilities, performing computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations and programming
· Compile and write technical reports
· Respond to customers' needs by performing field investigations
· Survey and inspect routes
· Responsible to take effective steps to ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and pricing costs
· Each Engineer is on the Division call schedule. This is a 24-hour a day duty, periodically, for one week at a time. The call responsibility includes response to emergency situations and calling personnel out for after hour activities and require that the individual reside in the greater Missoula area.
· Assist in budget presentation
· Job time is spent in office and field environment with exposure to all field hazards and weather
· Occasional lifting of materials up to 70 pounds required
· Some travel and extended hours may be required
Applicant must demonstrate a history of good safe working practices and must demonstrate a good safety record
· Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
· Must have a BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
· Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer’s License is preferred
· Excellent communications and computer skills and good to excellent technical writing skills required
· Experience with SAP, line design and LDPro desired
· Have the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks or projects and challenging situations
· Must be organized and have the ability to work well with others
· Knowledge of International Fuel Gas Code, NESC, NEC, and the DOT. Part 191 and 192 is preferred
· This position requires a general understanding of survey and inspection techniques and microprocessor-based equipment
· A valid Montana driver's license or the ability to get one is required
