Engineering coordinator will invoice all engineering labor sales to the customer for new and used equipment, attachments and technology products sold by the engineering department. The coordinator is to provide information to the engineering personnel or sales team to aid in the support and selling of the equipment.
Coordinate with the Expanded Product Line Service Department to get the engineering/ electrical work that needs to be done on new and used machines. Invoice customer to transact the sale of labor hours for engineering services provided on customer equipment. Set up claims (if required) on post-sale credits and accounting accruals. Track the sales and rental deliveries and existing populations. Support office functions by answering phones, assisting with filing. Balance inventory to transaction register and support all functions of the business.
Help evaluate all engineering needs. File claims with Caterpillar for program credits, (CAP, Government, VAII, and DTR) related to engineering services. Help develop projects as needed by the department. Continual support to Engineering Staff Members and Salesmen in the policies and procedures of the Engineering Department. Work with all departments of the Company to maintain inventory records in Dealer Business System, such as store location, attachment changes and specification changes. Work with accounting department on balancing inventory, audit and payables of the engineering department. Analyze post sale data as related to cost and sell.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must be able to listen and follow instructions. Must be able to type, be able to use a computer and have knowledge of copy and fax machines. Must understand basic math and be able to evaluate numbers. Telecommunications skills are required to report results to engineering staff, management and salesmen.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
Bachelor or Associated degree preferred. Basic knowledge of accounting practices. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and Power Point.
Keyboard, telephone skills, knowledge of PC and mainframe computers, operating copy, fax machines, and general office equipment. Experience in starting and finishing projects.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
AS400 and personal computer, OEM Catalogs, Caterpillar literature, Caterpillar networks systems and general office equipment. Industry and business literature.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Primarily involved in office activities. Sit or stand for extended periods of time 6 – 8 hours per day. Walking, carrying boxes of files. Use hands for fine manipulation. Lift 20 to 40 lbs. Typical work hours 7am to 4pm with some overtime required.
