Engineering Manager, Applications Engineering
SUMMARY
Seeking an individual capable of leading a product
development team responsible for the definition, design,
development, and qualification efforts for aerospace
fluid conveyance products. This individual is also
responsible as an individual contributor for applying
design expertise and analytical techniques to guide
product development in order to achieve product
integrity for complex hose, tube and fittings used for
aerospace fluid conveyance systems. General leadership
responsibilities include talent acquisition, talent
development, coaching, performance management, and
overall team leadership. Must demonstrate effective
organizational and verbal/written communication skills
as well as strong team building and leadership
abilities. Will be required to effectively drive results
needed for successful new product launches and ensure
sustaining and upgrading of legacy products.
Qualifications – BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or
related technical field (Masters preferred) and prior
leadership experience managing technical teams.
Experience with hydraulic hose or fluid systems is a
plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible to lead, manage, and provide technical
direction to a group of product development engineering
team members within our matrixed Business Team
structure.
2. Defines plans and monitors costs and technical
performance; coordinates the technical effort and
establishes operational plans to accomplish program
objectives.
3. Talent acquisition, talent development, coaching,
performance management, and overall team leadership.
4. Has regular internal and external interaction with
program management or customers on technical projects
assigned to the team, including requirements definition
and negotiation. May have cross-business unit or
division interface on common technical issues.
5. May act as individual contributor for applying
installation and application expertise on aerospace
fluid conveyance systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor degree (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering
or related technical field (Masters preferred) and prior
leadership experience managing technical teams.
Experience with hydraulic hose or fluid systems is a
plus.
2. Demonstrate effective organizational and
verbal/written communication skills as well as strong
team building and leadership abilities.
3. Demonstrate the ability to effectively drive
successful product launches including premier customer
relations and management skills.
4. An understanding of aerospace qualification
requirements and development and design of hydraulic
and/or fuel systems.
5. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
typically acquired through 7-9 years of related
experience.
