Creates and develops plans for department objectives that will improve on global performance characteristics, including cost, quality, personnel, and delivery and that are consistent with overall corporate objectives.
Major Duties
1.
Plans direction of engineering and technical personnel.
2.
Continuously develops product-engineering capability of department by developing skill levels, tools, software/hardware, and analysis techniques.
3.
Manages engineering projects and may lead projects or steering committees to drive key engineering issues when required.
4.
Continuously monitors, develops and documents quality system within the department that ensures global product quality and service to PIC customers.
5.
Ensures new product designs meet DVT and MVT criteria.
6.
Plans, executes, analyzes and documents product research and testing on PIC and competitive products.
7.
Supports Sales & Marketing in the promotion of new product designs.
8.
Applies practical experience with lean enterprise tools.
9.
Manages engineering change function.
10.
Performs other duties as assigned.
11.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Seven (7) years applicable experience, including some supervisory experience.
