Title : Engineering Manager Exempt Status: Exempt Summary: Responsible for managing the operational activities of the Engineering Department, plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department, supervise staff and manage project schedule execution, design issues, and department budget. Essential Functions: · Direct in a timely manner the activities of Engineering Department to meet department and company business requirements. · Coordinate the project’s engineering effort, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with project specifications, other relevant documents and codes. · Effectively serve as primary company engineering representative to clients and alliance partners and resolve all issues relating to the technical aspects of the project. · Conduct and participate in meetings with clients, alliance partners, sub-contract engineers, and major equipment and fabricator suppliers to ensure technical leadership is provided for the project. · Ensure projects are within schedule and budget. · Secure adequate technical resources to execute the project’s engineering requirements, working with functional company department managers and sub-contractors as required. · Cordinate effort with the project core team to develop the project schedule / design plan. · Manage the engineering man-hours and scheduled activities for the project, and report on progress and potential problems. · Prepare reports, correspondence, agreements, graphs and tables and make presentations at meetings as required. · Build and maintain positive working relationships within the project team, with co-workers, clients, engineers and other company-established principles of good customer service. · Develop and employ continuous improvement methodologies to drive / deliver manufacturing improvements of core products · Periodically brief functional mangers on project status, problems, and other technical activities facing the project. Provide reports to department mangers as required. · Implement department practices and procedures to drive the improvement of efficiency, quality, capabilities, meet the requirements of ISO900, and lay the foundation for expansion. · Travel as necessary to consult on design, fabrication, and installations.

Job Requirements :
Technical Skills: Advanced analytical skills to perform essential job functions. Practical experience and understanding of industrial steam/gas turbine parts manufacture. · Thorough working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, BPVC, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, PED 97/32/EC, AWS codes and specification as well as other commercial and government standards such as ANSI/ASTM and MIL-STDS. · Knowledge of design of products constructed from heavy gage sheet metal, structural members, plate, pipe, tubing, bolted and welded joints. · Strong knowledge of the use and application ERP’s in a job shop type environment, Bills of Materials, Methods, Sub Contracts, Hold Points, etc. · Ability to read and interpret drawings used to produce complex turbine components · Strong planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task and deal with a varied workload · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. · Ability to understand and articulate 3D geometry · Ability to interpret technical specifications and complex manufacturing drawings Behavioral Skills: Ability to conduct self in professional manner and applies strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide fast, accurate and complete customer service at all times with all employees and management; build strong customer relationships. Ability to reason and apply principles of logic to a wide range of practical problems utilizing techniques to systematically break down multi-dimensional problems or processes. Ability to apply strong attention to detail and organizational skills to meet simultaneous project deadlines; ability to maintain accurate and easily accessible records. Ability to analyze, organize and manage multiple priorities; sets priorities in an efficient manner and optimizes use of time and resources to achieve desired results. Ability to exercise strong conflict and problem-solving skills and apply appropriate resolutions. Ability to identify opportunities for continual process improvements in performing essential job functions and meeting realistic business requirements. Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to type on a keyboard and operate a personal computer.
Ability to converse over a telephone.
Ability to perform work within office environment. Education: BSME or MSME from an accredited institution, equivalent experience at discretion of management. Experience: Seven years or more of previous related experience and three years management experience required with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience required. Certifications : Professional engineering license is desired.
