Engineering & Maintenance Manager Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the site Plant Manager and as an integral member of the site leadership team, this position’s key accountabilities are:
• Manage all aspects of the Rochester Engineering and Maintenance teams. Manage maintenance of production equipment, technical and maintenance-related systems, buildings and grounds for the facility, including responsibility for a $1 million maintenance budget; • Capital improvement project management, contractor coordination, and management of site and visiting Engineers; • Manage the CMMS and preventive maintenance programs; • Plan, organize and direct maintenance manpower to meet production requirements and ensure downtime is kept to a minimum; • Coach, motivate, train and effectively manage the performance of Process Engineers, eight to ten hourly, multi-skilled maintenance mechanics on a 24/7 schedule, and a maintenance supervisor; • Environmental & Site Security Coordinator; Ensure timely and accurate environmental reporting, adherence to proper safety and sanitation regulations and policies/procedures; • Actively identify and initiate process improvements to positively impact financial viability, service and product quality and customer satisfaction of the facility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or a General Engineering discipline; • 5 or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in engineering maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing or dairy environment; • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems as well as gas systems, liquid propane, boilers and refrigeration; • Working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) • Experience in the implementation or management of a CMMS program (Computerized Maintenance Management System) • Waste treatment knowledge and experience; • Understanding of purchasing requirements and experience working with national contracts; • Project Management (capital improvements) and budget management experience; • Highly effective leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability in coaching and developing others; • A dynamic personality style with the ability and willingness to promote appropriate change and improvement; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships at all levels and maintain a positive working environment; • Solid computer, planning and problem-solving skills are a must; • Ability to work any shift and weekends to support 24/7 operation of the facility; • Dairy &/or liquid processing & ammonia refrigeration experience preferred. • PSM (Process Safety Management) and good understanding of process control
