We have an immediate opening for a Manager of Engineering Program Management, based out of our Aliso Viejo, CA corporate headquarters.
Manages the SIT tasks, schedules, resources and customer escalations as required to interface with customers, marketing and development teams. This includes assisting in the definition of the strategy, defining the product tests and schedules, release commitments, and providing the status for customer issues.
Works closely with engineering, marketing and all technical teams to insure timely and successful product release and support concerns. Helps drive specifications and is the focal point for all assigned OEM SIT program status.
Maintains a strong sense of urgency and a dedication to focused programs while acting as the main point of contact between marketing and development teams for SIT concerns.
Attends all OEM conference calls as representative for SIT status and issues.
Attends all OEM face to face meetings as representative of SIT status, issues, progress and future planning activities.
Interface with marketing product managers to assist in defining and driving new features in hardware and software. Review and respond to OEM requests for quotes, product requirements, test requirements and project planning.
Act as a technical point of contact within SIT team for all assigned OEM issues. Monitors customer issues, provides weekly/daily status on escalations.
Maintains detailed automated schedules. These plans will encompass the plans of all relevant departments and disciplines within the areas of SIT responsibility.
Interfaces with OEM customer to ensure full compliance with testing criteria is met. Monitor for efficiency and negotiate with customer to maintain relevant testing while attempting to minimize overhead.
Achieves organizational agreement on goals, schedules, milestones and performance.
Anticipates and analyzes problems pertaining to product issues, schedules, and takes corrective actions. Insures visibility of all major issues at the senior management level and provides recommendations/proposals and plans for corrective action.
Defines clear project roles and responsibilities. Works closely with project team members to resolve any differences or uncertainties that may arise. Manages for results, efficiently runs projects and monitors the performance/response of team.
Assists in the development of program procedures, scheduling standards, process steps and planning of the program management discipline as practiced within the company.
Plans and manages multiple projects simultaneously. Tracks employee and financial resources, effectively prioritizing tasks across multiple projects.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience, and a minimum of 8 years related experience in program management for high technology/complex product.
Knowledge of automated program or project management tools (MS Excel, Project), with above average oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle several critical issues simultaneously is required. Ability to achieve goals through individuals who are not direct reports using persuasiveness. Logical and exceptional personal leadership traits are also required.
Related software and/or product knowledge of high performance I/O or communication products allowing effective technical discussions with customers and team members.
