Vogtle 3 & 4 Systems Manager JOB SUMMARY This position reports to the Site Engineering Director in the Operational Readiness organization of Vogtle 3 & 4. The position is responsible for leading a group of approximately 30 engineers and support staff. The group is tasked with performing System Engineering responsibilities to ensure high levels of equipment reliability for Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4. These duties include establishing and maintaining AP913 based programs such as System Health Monitoring and Reporting and the Preventive Maintenance Program including metrics necessary to drive overall station performance and performance improvement. During the construction phase responsibilities also include developing or overseeing the development of other Engineering Programs, developing Initial Fuel Load strategies, preparing for Preoperational and Startup testing and other activities necessary to support construction and preparing the station for commercial operation.
        Duties include: Developing required system engineering programs including, but not limited to system health monitoring and reporting program and the Preventive Maintenance program including their associated metrics. Ensuring the necessary system expertise is developed to support station operation. Developing the fuel load through 100% power strategies for the station. Ensuring pre-operational testing is positioned to turn over fully functional systems that meet design specifications by preparing Engineering personnel to participate in the pre-operational test program. Supporting and reinforcing SNC Standards and Behaviors. Ensuring project budgets are adequate and controlled, implementation schedules are maintained and technical objectives are met. Ensuring personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks. Leading or supporting SNC and industry assessments. Working with counterparts within Nuclear Development and across the SNC fleet to balance short-term and long term strategic personnel needs, including the development of key leadership talent. Supporting engineering procedure development needed to operate and maintain the new units. Being personally involved in recruiting, hiring, on boarding, training, qualification, technical development, assignment to positions, leadership development and performance management of the engineering staff. Ensure development of key leadership talent and establish robust succession plans. Developing the strategic plans for the Systems Engineering organization.
