Description
The Engineering Technician supports the engineering staff with routine and special project work that involve the retrieval, preparation, processing, manipulation and management of data. An understanding of production operations including operating expenses, capital budgets, daily reporting, well equipment and configurations, and cost justification is required for this position. Also required is the ability to utilize skill and judgment to solve complex problems, and to work with little or no supervision.
Coordinates data retrieval, collecting, loading, manipulation and management while working with groups in other teams/departments as required.
Finalizes reports and documents for presentations.
Evaluates data to summarize and document results.
Initiates customized forms, reports, and map definitions.
Researches well files, builds well bore diagrams, maintains various databases and spreadsheets.
May serve as mentor to less experienced technicians.
Travel may be required.
Has the responsibility and authority to stop unsafe work by employees or contractors.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Associates Degree required; applicable industry experience may be used in place of the degree.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Experience with technical software such as WellView, AVR, OFM, IHS/DrillingInfo, Power Tools, and Petra is preferred.
Effective interpersonal skills to work within multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals.
Effective organization and communication skills, self-motivated, creative, and results oriented.
