Marathon Oil Corporation is an independent international energy company engaged in exploration and production, oil sands mining and integrated gas. Marathon Oil has a major leasehold position in the core of the Eagle Ford Shale formation in South Texas. The Company holds acreage in the Eagle Ford, focusing on Atascosa, DeWitt, Gonzales and Karnes counties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling up-front data necessary for workover rig operations. Primary duties will include pulling data out of Wellview and assembling a template for tubing installations, rod pump installations and gas lift valve installations. The position requires a high degree of self direction & motivation, excellent verbal/written communication skills, organization and prioritization knowhow, computer proficiency, and the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. This position will report to the Production Engineering Supervisor for the Eagle Ford Asset Team and will be located in San Antonio, Texas. Some travel to field locations in south Texas (Pleasanton/Kenedy/Gonzales) will be required.
Provide production data support, including variance analyses and presentation preparation when required.
Support the production engineering team with data retrieval for workover procedure development.
Work closely with production engineers and field operations personnel to collect data to improve upon understanding the characteristics of individual wells and to sustain a high level of production.
Support the team’s use of WellView for both daily activity tracking, as well as for the potential development into its use as a downhole failure analysis tool.
Positively interact with office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation and attention to the safety of all personnel, the environment and Company assets.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Preferred to have 5+ years of technician or data management experience supporting technical staff or strong administrative experience including technical support. At least 5 years previous experience in Operations Coordination, or project planning and scheduling for Engineering/Procurement/Construction projects. Knowledge of unconventional resource plays would be preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Advanced Excel techniques and Wellview software preferred. An understanding of oilfield data collection will be very beneficial.
