To serve as an instructor for engineering technology program, provide leadership to recruit/advise students and assist with curriculum development.
Instructor will provide appropriate classroom instruction and laboratory instruction as necessary.
This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 18, 2014.
Please note that the teaching load for mechanical track includes but is not limited to: classes in computer aided drawing and design, statics and strength of materials, hydraulics, and engineering materials.
Teaching load for manufacturing track includes but is not limited to: classes in manufacturing processes, fundamentals of machining, CNC manufacturing, advanced manufacturing operations, and quality control practices in manufacturing.
Description of All Duties:
Faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; by developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students educational experience; develops, and executes appropriate methods of evaluating students performance; works with the library to maintain appropriate materials to the course(s); develops, secures, and maintains the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required (or its equivalent in demonstrated professional competence). Master's preferred in engineering, manufacturing, or integrated technology discipline. Prior training or classroom instructional experience preferred. Manufacturing and other workplace experiences should include but not be limited to use of mills, lathes, tooling, metal fabrication, quality control, and CNC/CAD/CAM/CAPP programming. Experience with grant writing and School-to-Work and/or P-16 initiatives desirable.
In addition to classroom duties, the instructor will assist with curriculum development, recruiting and advising students, maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment, and ordering supplies. Oral English proficiency for classroom instruction is required.

The minimum starting salary for full-time faculty is $40,165.00 Actual starting salary is commensurate with education and experience and applicable placement on the salary chart as set forth in the bargaining agreement.
