SILICON VALLEY MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for a top-notch intern to join the growing Redwood City office of oDesk, the world's largest, most comprehensive and fastest-growing online workplace. This intern will be involved in various aspects of communications, including campaign development, written and visual content creation, public relations and event management, and online communications via social media channels. The intern will be supporting community engagement activities as well, including contractor forums and local client marketing efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a general interest in the field of communications and social media, as well as in the technology industry. In addition, the candidate MUST be enrolled in a local university or graduate program, and be able to work 20 to 40 hours per week. Candidates should display exceptional writing ability, solid presentation skills, attention to detail, commitment to quality, superior judgement, and demonstrated initiative. Start and end dates for this internship are flexible, but the internship period will ideally run from late May through the middle of August, with the hope for the intern to stay on for the fall if their work has met our high standards.
This is a paid internship, starting at $10/hour. In general, the position is an opportunity for upperclassmen and graduate students to gain professional growth, with the potential for a talented intern to continue on after graduation.
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST be CURRENTLY enrolled in a four-year university or post-graduate studies program
MUST be able to work at least 20 to 40 hours a week throughout the summer
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required; Google Docs experience a plus
Hard-working, detail-oriented, creative, and comfortable working with social media channels
Communications curriculum and knowledge of statistical methods preferred
Strong writing skills (writing test required)
