This position is responsible for defining and developing the strategy and roadmap for the Enterprise Digital Business Architecture domain for Chubb. This domain encompasses Chubb’s Internet (Chubb.com), Intranet (ChubbNet) and Extranet (@Chubb) architecture.
This may include, but is not limited to:
•Defines best practices and standards for the domain
•Serve as the Chubb’s Enterprise Digital Business Architect for all strategic Internet, Intranet and Extranet projects
•Provide domain expertise and guidance to the Business, Operations and IT teams, and external parties in your area of expertise
•Work closely in tight collaboration with the Digital Business Delivery Manager to ensure the highest quality solutions
•Provide architectural support and guidance to the Digital Business Development team
•Develops the Enterprise Digital Business strategy and roadmaps that will guide the IT direction for the platform.
•Provide a deep understanding of the overall architecture landscape that supports the Digital Business domain for Chubb. Example areas of the architecture include: Web Analytics, Content Management, Web Integration, Online Search, Web Security, Personalization, Mashups, Portal Technology, Mobile, and Social/Collaboration and Knowledge Management.
•Provide standards and best practices that enable successful project implementations that align with the enterprise target architecture.
•Proactively identify and capitalize upon opportunities to share/re-use existing software and architecture components where possible.
•Work closely with the Application Architects to provide subject matter expertise in the standards, solution patterns and components that make up Chubb’s Digital Business Target Architecture.
•Work closely with the Technical Architects and Infrastructure representatives to ensure High Availability and platform stability
•Defines and enforces Chubb’s Enterprise Architecture (EA) compliance rules, standards and best practices for the Enterprise Digital Business Architecture platform.
•Participate in Chubb Enterprise Architecture working groups to stay current on the latest technology solutions and to ensure the proposed solutions are aligned to the current and future Corporate IT objectives
•Develop solution and design patterns for the Enterprise Digital Business platform capabilities.
•Build and maintain a solid understanding of Web industry market trends and best practices
•Maintain a broad business and IT product knowledge, including the impact of industry trends, regulatory environment, and relevant best practices on the recommended solutions for the digital space
•Follow the standards, procedures and methodologies in the SDLC development life cycle in development and/or recommendation of technical solutions.
•Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of Chubb’s Digital Business Competency from both a technical and a business aspect
•Establish strong working relationships across Chubb’s IT domains and with business partners
•Use active listening to define architecture and technical needs, and recommend the appropriate solutions based on a strong understanding of technology, business needs and overall budget.
•Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed upon milestones
•Proactively promote technical knowledge and skills development of junior staff
•Demonstrate strong ability to work in a team environment and foster cross-team collaboration
•Create a strong morale and spirit in his/her team through fostering open dialogue and creating a feeling of belonging to the team
•Promote the use of knowledge management and knowledge sharing processes and tools
•Share/leverage successful products, processes and practices across Chubb IT
•Ensure Enterprise compliance, SOX and internal audit practices, processes and guidelines
•Ensure documentation is captured appropriately and is easily assessable to the team members
•Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
•7-10 years of experience architecting and developing successful solutions for market facing and internally facing web solutions
•Detailed knowledge of the following:
oIBM Websphere, Web Services, REST and J2EE
oWeb Content Management, Search, Personalization, Portals, Social/Collaboration
oSEO, Web Analytics, Tagging
•Experience with the following technologies are a plus:
oNetInsight, Rhythmyx, Solr
•Insurance Industry Experience is a plus
•Proven experience in serving as an expert to system architects, developers and/or application support analysts
•Strong understanding Web environments and technologies in relation to business needs
•Proven practical experience in guiding and supporting Enterprise Architecture standards and compliance in the Digital Business space
•Extensive end to end experience in architecting and designing highly scalable, high performing and highly available complex web applications following advanced Architecture Practices and Patterns
•Proven leadership experience in managing client relationships (internal/external)
•Strong management skills, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously
•Experience in initiating, conducting and facilitating discussions with multiple stakeholders, and ability to translate the results and issues at hand to the business and to the IT teams
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
