A Gas and Mid-Stream Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining the overall architecture for CGM, inclusive of business, information, application portfolio, and technology architectures. This role also ensures seamless integration of Information Management principles and requirements into CGM architectural design to deliver a holistic view of all Mid-Stream information (structured or unstructured). Additionally, this role executes on plans, processes, and work to develop, maintain, and deploy CGM strategy in alignment with business and IT goals.
The CGM EA engages Global Gas businesses to maintain strong alignment, and maintain strategic data to provide traceability with Global Gas and SBU business strategy. This role may also be required to lead portions of Global Gas IT annual strategy (Everest) refreshes. The CGM EA role is critical to the Global Gas IT function, and will require the ability to influence without authority, apply structured systems thinking, and have the ability to grasp business concepts and synthesize into strategic and architectural drivers.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Implement and mature Global Gas Enterprise Architecture practices to continue creation of CGG business architecture models, designs of the information flow to business functions, and guide business enabling IT investment decisions. (Modeling, TOGAF)
Develop standards for systems and information interchange between business units in Global Gas, Chevron business entities, and external 3rd party business partners. (CGM Standards)
Coordinate with TMA/EA.
Work with the Information Technology Company (ITC) Technology Management and Architecture (TMA) to align and leverage Chevron wide standards and processes,(IBM's System Architect)
Utilize the Asset Lifecycle maintenance Portfolio Strategy to create and maintain IT investment strategies in alignment with critical business needs.
Collaborate with Global Gas business and IT communities, at both leadership and operational levels, to understand and synthesize strategic drivers for IT enablement.
Facilitate discussions with business leaders to ensure that local SBU strategic initiatives are leveraged and possibly elevated to drive standardization and efficiencies at the Opco level
Implement and mature Global Gas Enterprise Architecture practices to continue creation of CGM business architecture models, designs of the information flow to business functions, and guide enabling IT investment decisions. (TOGAF, policy 564, IBM System Architect).
Analyze and understand gas value chain data and information needs required to support end-to-end information flow including identifying areas to improve master data management via well-designed and executed Information Quality Plans.
Continue to grow unstructured information management program.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related IT degree required.
10 years minimum experience in Information Technology
Demonstrated ability to apply architectural disciplines to solve business problems (systems thinking)
Experience in modeling business and information attributes and their correlation to supporting technologies
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Project Management Experience working with Trading and Risk Management functions Experience with Shipping, Pipeline or power generation
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture experience
Data Integration, Data Quality and Information Architecture methods
