The successful candidates will join a newly formed team to facilitate the maturity of the Application Development Lifecycle across Chevron worldwide.
The team will:
Provide leadership and direction on the use of current and emerging technologies based on best practices and standards relevant to Chevron.
Identify and provide direction to close gaps and sustain the Application lifecycle capabilities and competencies.
Create a collaborative learning platform to enable and empower IT professionals to connect and develop, discover, share, and leverage standards and best practices.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Subject matter expert on application lifecycle process with focus on application design, development, and testing.
Lead creation of development standards and methodologies for core application development technologies.
Provide guidance on best practices and standards throughout the application lifecycle process including requirements, design, development, and quality assurance.
Contribute to building a vibrant community of practice across the enterprise, using a variety of mechanisms such as Yammer, SharePoint, podcasting and the annual Global Application Management forum.
Facilitate competency development for Application Developer, Application Support Analyst, Business Analyst, and Usability Analyst.
BSc in Computer Science, IT systems, MIS or related engineering discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience with formal application development project execution methodologies.
5+ years of hands-on experience using Microsoft Development Technologies, in particular .NET, MVC, WCF; SOA; workflow and reporting technologies; database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
Expert knowledge in one or more of requirements, design, quality assurance, development or operations.
Ability to develop strategies and work with ambiguity.
Strong teamwork, communication, and influencing skills.
Ability to build consensus and cooperation across diverse stakeholders and effectively prioritize and address enterprise wide opportunities.
Understanding of Chevron business environment, IT function, processes, tools and technologies.
Experience with both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Experience with building and managing a Community of Practice.
