Position Summary

Atlanta Housing Authority is in the process of a Business and IT transformation. This position will ensure the Company’s Information Technology Systems Architecture is aligned to and supports the business strategy at an enterprise level. This will involve ensuring the underlying technical infrastructure, application architecture, and information is mapped and maintained properly (i.e., existing application inventory, transitional states, feature mapping, infrastructure mapping, interface mapping, etc.).
This critical IT position will partner with internal business units, business partners, and third party service providers to architect world class, end-to-end business and IT solutions. This position will work closely with other IT groups to ensure systems integration with YARDI ERP systems and other service related systems within the enterprise.
This position will be responsible and accountable for application portfolio management within the client IT environment and will be a key contributor in setting the application roadmap and future application direction within the company. The successful candidate must have strong coordination with CIO office, Architecture team, Infrastructure team, Application Development, and Business leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establish, implement, communicate, and maintain an application portfolio management process
Develop and maintain application and infrastructure roadmap plans that supports the needs across the company (as-is, transitional, & future state)
Establish Architecture standards for application documentation (conceptual, functional, logical/physical, etc.)
Establish System Architecture Information
Mapping of applications and systems to functions within the environment
Illustrate the logical groupings of applications
Define the interactions among systems
Illustrate shared services vs. domain-specific functions
Establish Technical Architecture Information
Define the technical standards to be used in the construction of the environment
Illustrate the specific systems, HW platforms, and application packages in the future state
Define integration and interaction standards among systems
Create the performance criteria that must be met by the environment
Establish Data Architecture
Lead and promote innovative data designs and develop the overall plans to initiate and pursue continuous data quality improvements following an Agile Methodology.
Collaborate with business units and data owners to successfully implement and maintain an enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution.
Identify and promote best practices for data modeling within information areas across various business units
Providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation
Establish standard data modeling methods and processes.
Ensure that operational and analytical data warehouses are able to support all business requirements
Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems
Develop, document, recommend, and communicate suggestions for investing in IT including analysis of cost reduction opportunities
Collaborate and participate in cross-functional meetings in an effort to make recommendations/suggestions regarding how current applications will be effected by the implementation of YARDI.
Collaborate with end users and senior management to define business requirements for complex systems development and work to gain buy-in moving forward
Work with 3rd party vendors to identify solution options
Participate in external forums, trainings, meetings with key vendors
Coordinate with IT and Business teams
Support application and infrastructure project roll-outs
Identify areas for simplification and consolidation
Work with IT and Business to evaluate new solutions
Define and perform technology blueprinting process
Perform Architecture reviews as part of project management process
Evaluate emerging technologies

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology required
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferred
5-10+ years of hands on experience within IT Architecture
5+ years’ experience working with data warehousing architecture (including staging, integration, warehouse and data mart platforms; associated ETL design and toolset)
3+ years overall experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Database Design and Database Development

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Familiarity with new IT trends and technologies
Extensive knowledge of core ETL architectural principles such as modularity,
restartability, parallelization and table driven business rules
Knowledge of several BI and data integration tools (SharePoint, SSIS, SSRS & SSAS preferred)
Thorough understanding of system development lifecycles
Project Management experience on large projects
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Organizational skills (able to prioritize)
Ability to work with IT technical resources across the IT organization
Ability to work closely with 3rd party vendors
Keen attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate and interact in a global organization
Adjusts to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change; accepts and adapts to new or alternative approaches

Integration / Architecture Requirements
Experience with a broad technology base
Experience establishing architectural standards.
Design, develop and oversee the implementation of integrates systems architecture
Experience establishing an Application Inventory
Experience defining and creating Architecture tools and artifacts supporting the Application Development lifecycle
Experience creating and maintaining Architecture information catalogs and diagrams
At least 3 years of experience leading a team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems
Familiarity with different programming methods
Strongly desire technical expertise with YARDI, Windows, MS SQL, VMware, Service Oriented Architecture and SharePoint

Business Intelligence (BI) / Data Architecture Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to communicate the overall customer data architecture to both technical and business constituencies
Demonstrated ability to independently find solutions to technical and non-technical issues
Deep understanding of information delivery architecture including the creation of abstraction layers, SQL query paths and optimization, report level calculations and end user reporting architecture
Experience in Master Data Management and Meta Data Management
Experience with a broad technology base

Working Conditions

Generally works in office environment.
Must be able to work in a deadline-focused and fast-paced environment.
Other duties as assigned.
