Provide analysis of the systems architecture with a focus on integration between enterprise systems and plant shop floor equipment control systems by analyzing systems, working with stakeholders to identify and address concerns, document conflicts and rationale for decisions, and insuring compliance of the built environment with the enterprise architecture. Identify system integration best practices and work with development teams to insure success of integration initiatives. Model the current systems environment, identify gaps and opportunities, and suggest needed improvements. Research new technologies and evaluate applicability, benefits, cost and risk in achieving business goals. Assist in defining and enforcing Information Technology policies. Provide planning, testing and training to implement the IT Disaster Recovery plan.
Collaborate with end users and management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development and gain buy-in for enterprise architecture plans. Where applicable, design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems. Key stakeholders include Operations business partners, Business Systems Analysts, Corporate and Plant engineering, IT Developers, and Management.
Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to software development teams. Lead design of technical solutions required to enable integration. Lead design of reusable integration components and identify opportunities for integration. Serve as point of contact for integration issues.
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives. Prepare and facilitate periodic technology and application reviews of major systems, working with business department and IT staff, vendors and consultants as required.
Develop, document, communicate, and enforce change control, integration, testing and coding standards policy.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of architecture and systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and architecture flexibility. Remain current with industry trends.
Review new and existing IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/ outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models. Develop, maintain and update information models; coordinate changes that occur as part of new development and maintenance to insure consistency with the model; coordinate with development teams and DBA to insure optimum implementation of models.
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with business department and IT staff to develop, maintain, test and update an IT Disaster Recovery Plan that ensures smooth operation of the MOM Brands Company in the event of an unexpected system outage.
Identify and report trends to the MES User Group. Review the needs and recommendations of the MES User group against the current technologies to determine the best path forward. Make recommendations for new tools to meet the business needs. Work with the MES User Group to justify expenditures on new tools.
BA/BS degree required, Computer Science or MIS concentration preferred.
3-5 years experience with one or more major Manufacturing Execution System implementations as a key player, including substantial work in all phases of the application life-cycle; technical depth of expertise in MSSql and experience developing applications in that language; experience in configuration, deployment and troubleshooting of applications.
