Key Results Areas
The Enterprise Data Architect is the resident functional and technical expert of
the SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse application. This position is responsible
for enterprise data architecture design, data modeling, SAP BW project and
enhancement implementations, performance tuning and maintenance of the data
warehouse environment.

The Enterprise Data Architect must be able to understand business challenges and
translate them into value added data architecture and enterprise data warehouse
solutions. The Enterprise Data Architect will also participate in developing a
BI Strategy & Roadmap and supporting business cases and should be very
familiar with SAP's product roadmap for Business Intelligence solutions
(including BusinessObjects and Spend Performance Management).

This role is responsible for defining and delivering projects within the
agreed-upon budget, scope and timelines and managing issues and risks through
the project lifecycle and helping to manage stakeholder expectations. This
position will need to work collaboratively with functional business areas and IT
partners to achieve project objectives, milestones, and deliverables and ensure
the implemented solutions are of high quality.

Principle Duties
• Act as a key leader to shape and implement strategic enterprise Business
Intelligence roadmap
• Designs architecture based on process requirements, application and system
• Help to ensure alignment between business solution definition and SAP
NetWeaver architecture for the organization by working across process, data
governance and technology teams•
• Responsible for outlining the methods and processes used to translate
reporting requirements into a solution and relevant data flow architecture.
Focused on a design global solution that provides global standardization of KPIs
and measures while providing local country flexibility.
• Provide technical and business project leadership for the full development
life cycle on business intelligence initiatives.
• Leads all BusinessObjects data architecture landscape documentation, including
business processes using MS Visio and/or other modeling applications.
• Activates SAP BW business content, particularly those related to financials,
sales and supply chain
• Develops and maintains the overall BI data architecture on a global scale,
ensuring that the architecture is appropriate across the domains, evolves to
meet changing business and technology environments, and adheres to the
enterprise architecture.
• Works across business IT and technical teams to ensure compliance of proposed
business solution and solution / data architecture.
• Import and convert data from SAP ECC, Legacy, or other external systems or
data sources into SAP BW utilizing ETL techniques
• Responsible for functional facets of the software development life cycle
(SDLC) including: high and detailed-level requirements gathering, functional
design, testing, training, reporting, support, and continuous improvement of
business reporting applications.
• Works with the BI Reporting Team on defining the semantic layer needs /
• Reviews and approves the design of BI application, component, data, and
interface architecture for applications and projects within the domain(s)
• Documents and executes system, performance, and user-acceptance test plans to
ensure that the system changes are error-free and meet the approved requirements
and designs.
• Develops and assist project team members with project estimates and detailed
work plans
• Understand process/requirements integration with core R/3 and complex
reporting / portal architecture.
• Support and maintain existing business intelligence systems.
• Document procedures, such as programs and system flow. Contribute in defining
and creating standards for the development process.

Skills and Knowledge
• Ideal candidates will have minimum 8 years working in SAP BW and data
warehouse development, minimum 10 years related industry experience
• Strong experience as primary solution architect on successful large global SAP
projects with the ability to manage resources and multiple projects
• Excellent expertise and experience in data architecture and modeling skills.
• Strong experience with BI 7.0 and InfoProvider design skills, in order to
provide most efficient infrastructure for Query building.
• Experience with data extraction from multiple sources, transformation,
loading, data life cycle management, reporting, advanced analytics, dashboarding
and planning.
• Strong functional knowledge in Financial reporting(Management and Statutory),
Commercial and Supply Chain processes
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex SAP BW/BI enterprise
solutions for global organizations
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science; equivalent experience will be evaluated.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive the issues to completion
and deliver against milestones
• Strong communications skills with the ability to interact with various levels
in a global organization
• Experience with SAP Business Objects a strong plus
• Experience with Microsoft Analysis Services, SQL Server, MS Reporting
Services, SSIS, DTS and ProClarity a strong plus
• Experience with Oracle Essbase, Hyperion HFM and Planning a plus
• Project Management experience a plus
• Travel is estimated to be approximately 25%, with approximately one-third of
this being international travel.
