This position provides Data Modeling support to the Enterprise Logical Data Model (ELDM) and Next Generation Operations – Cloud Analytics (NGO-CA). Specific duties include:
Perform semantic data modeling for the NGO-CA domain data model. Extensive data analysis, including using and researching database structures and/or SQL statements in order to infer domain semantics
Develop and maintain NGO-CA domain data model artifacts: Data Element Dictionaries (DED), Physical Data Models (PDM), data mappings and documentation, data format specifications, and user guides as required
Spend 10% of effort ensuring that NGO-CA domain data model work is aligned with the ELDM
Coordinate and hold Technical Peer Reviews with Subject Matter Authorities and Stakeholder communities to understand the semantics of their domains, and for requirements and/or impact analysis
Define and analyze data requirements, map legacy data stores and formats to semantic and physical data models, and propose standard ways for this information to be communicated between systems and stored within corporate databases
Stay current with internal and external standards bodies and working groups that specifically focus on data modeling and data formats

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the Top Secret/SCI level and obtain a full scope polygraph
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5-10 years of professional experience as either a Software/Systems Engineer or 3-5 years as a Data Modeler on systems that semantically federate multiple data sources; or 3-5 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
Extensive working knowledge and practical use of data modeling techniques. Working experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and XML technologies (XSDs and schemas, and XML generation), ontologies, epistemology, and semantics
Familiarity with Oracle, SQL, SQL Server and relational theory (including entity-relationship diagrams)

Individual Capabilities Desired :
Superior interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of customers
Familiarity with MS Visio and MS Access
Experience using Sybase PowerDesigner is a plus, as well as knowledge of the ELDM, but not required
Experience with Resource Description Framework (RDF) Schema (RDFS)
Familiarity with Cloud technology, e.g. Hadoop
