Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Solutions/ Web developer and Messaging Support Analyst located in Houston, Texas through July 1, 2013.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Must understand the importance of adhering to corporate branding and coding standards, and following standardized department processes. Acts as a resident technical expert for messaging automation -- determines coding and development-environment standards and advises on the future technical direction of Messaging automation.
Responsible for performing day to day 3rd level design and support activities involving all messaging technologies.
Provide infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, incident management, problem management and capacity management.
Provide guidance on improving the current existing processes.
Provide troubleshooting of application and hardware failures, developing strategies for resolving them and preventing future occurrences.
Technical writing skills to provide documentation of supported systems, applications and scripts developed.
Stays abreast of both technology changes and Chevron operating environment changes to assess potential impact to supported systems and application infrastructures.
Proactively look for opportunities to improve service and/or reduce costs.
Bachelor's in Information Technology or a related degree
Extensive knowledge of Powershell, Visual Basic and .Net scripting and coding.
SharePoint solutions provider.
Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL and Network Architecture.
Knowledge and experience in supporting a global Microsoft technology infrastructure.
Basic understanding of Security and Storage technologies.
Ability to engage with Chevron business units to gather requirements on their messaging related projects and develop creative solutions.
Must have efficient and effective problem resolution and systems troubleshooting abilities.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, company leadership, managers, subject matter experts of other technologies and end users alike.
Ability to analyze problems, develop creative solutions and assess risks/benefits.
Relocation will be considered.
