Enterprise Program Manager
This position is responsible for the successful planning, management and delivery of Accounting and Company projects. The Enterprise Program Manager may define projects, run projects, and/or assign Project Managers to manage cost, schedule and performance, while working to ensure the ultimate success and acceptance of the overall assigned program. This position provides program leadership for assigned department and company-wide initiative(s) by managing cross-functional, enterprise-wide programs that will result in significant process improvement, cost savings, and/or revenue enhancements for the company. Under minimal supervision, the Enterprise Program Manager is responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of multiple, large-scale, related projects directed toward strategic business and organizational objectives. These programs contain complex activities that may span functions and organizations. The Enterprise Program Manager maintains continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and recommends modifications to enhance effectiveness. The Enterprise Program Manager oversees and guides the individual projects as well as conveys the important relationship of each project to the bigger picture, including the larger program and organizational performance objectives. This position may have direct and/or matrix management responsibilities for program and/or project management, business analyst and/or support associates. The Enterprise Program Manager teaches and mentors others in the required discipline and competencies of program/project management while applying business acumen to deliver high-valued results.
Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions
Responsible for ensuring that the overall program/project structures and processes enable the project teams to successfully complete their work and that the project deliverables can be integrated into the program's end product, service, results and/or benefits.
Formalize prioritization of all initiatives to ensure adequate cross-functional capacity, working in conjunction with the Steering Committee.
Provide effective communication across initiatives and to project steering teams and executives
Provide oversight to cross-functional team performance and results
Establish shared and individual KPI s for cross-functional team
Develop resource requirements to support annual planning and budgeting
Develops and manages enterprise-wide, highly or most complex program plans and budgets/financial data.
Manages conflicting priorities with other programs and matrixed project team members.
Evaluates and solves difficult problems that impact the overall success of the program, as well as that of other organizational projects.
Synthesizes disparate observations and data to make recommendations to senior management.
Monitors process, progress and results to ensure assigned programs/projects deliver value to the Company through tangible benefits and measurable outcomes both financial and non-financial.
Manages program adoption planning as part the implementation phase and manages transition of work and responsibilities to appropriate teams as part of program/project close-out phase.
Manages vendor selection, implementation, and performance processes in accordance to the Company s vendor management framework for system solutions, external partner and/or staff augmentation efforts.
Direct management responsibilities for program/project management, business analyst and/or other project support associates.
Bachelor s degree in technology management or business/accounting or related field.
PMP certification is a plus along with experience building a PMO
Expert knowledge of project planning/management; able to develop and manage project plans; identify and secure needed resources; escalate conflicting priorities with other projects and team members; influence team members and business leaders to successfully execute on plan; drive vendor management process
Ability to seek input and drive alignment with all levels of stakeholders prior to making decisions.
Accountable for own work and the work of team(s) to successful execute assigned programs/projects objectives.
Ability to manage a plan (i.e. budget, resources, schedules, deliverables); results-oriented.
Ability to deliver needed messaging and decision-making with all audiences, including senior leaders, and in all forms (e.g., written, oral, developing and performing presentations).
Effectively handle ambiguity in all aspects of work, including business direction and strategy.
Proven history of fostering teamwork and collaboration across multiple functional areas with competing priorities.
Fluent in standard program/project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, and SDLC).
Proven ability to effectively lead complex process and system implementation programs, understanding and resolving business impacts.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative solutions to complex multi-disciplinary problems, understanding potential impacts to processes and related IT systems supporting the organization
Proven ability to partner with business teams, translating business requirements into technology solutions
Superb communication and customer management skills
Problem management, critical thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, vendor management skills.
Experience with vendor and contract management
Good interpersonal skills.
Sense of urgency.
Able to understand and drive end-to-end business process improvements.
Able to drive adoption and organizational readiness upon implementation.
10 years in a project environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant business experience.
10 or more years experience in a functional business area.
10 years of business process improvement / management.
3-5 years experience in management staff including building strong teams.
A plus, accounting role that required extensive work with process and systems improvements.
