Pennsylvania (Presbyterian Senior Living): Designing and developing responsive, green, affordable senior housing
The Rose Fellow at PSL will work statewide to create healthy, green, affordable housing options that respond to the needs of currently underserved seniors, using design to support physical and cognitive aging in place and to improve and streamline current development practices.
The Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship is a prestigious three year opportunity for early-career architects interested in community design. Fellows are hosted by community development organizations across the country, where they serve as integral members of their host organizations’ staff. Fellows gain practical experience in site acquisition, site planning, architectural design, developing financial pro-formas, and obtaining public approvals. Fellows engage in neighborhood planning, typically helping their hosts improve standards and practices for design excellence, sustainability and resident engagement. Positions beginning January 2014.
Criteria used to select fellows are:
Substance and clarity of essays
Quality of fellowship plan critique
Past experience with relevant community work
Evidenced commitment to public service
Architectural experience (NAAB-Accredited Professional Architecture Degree is required)|
Quality and substance of recommendations
Presentation and responses during interviews
