Job Description

Focus on the server and storage vendors in US and create new opportunities to grow business

Work with the customer product engineering and management teams in understanding the requirements and in conceptualizing the solution

Participate in architecture and design discussions with customer teams to demonstrate thought leadership

Engage with account managers in growing the business by providing strategic insights

Identify solutions that will differentiate offerings and propose those solutions to the storage practice team

Provide guidance and leadership to the team on leading edge technologies in server and storage domain

Candidate should have product engineering background and not just storage domain knowledge. Storage architect term is used both for managed services activities as well as engineering development activities. We need product development / developer background, ie., Storage product development and/or presales experience.

Following are the type of people that will be suitable for this role:

Product Managers in storage companies such as EMC, HP, NetApp, IBM

Storage architects experienced in developing products in the product engineering space

Senior technical leads who have been part of storage product development

People who have over 8 years of experience in service companies like HCL, Cognizant, TCS, Patni on storage projects.

Essentially people working essentially on product engineering and development activities in the following companies will be a better fit: IBM (Storage division), HP (Storage division), NetApp, Qlogic, LSI Logic, EMC, Oracle (ex Sun/StorageTek employees), L&T or Patni with strong experience is product eng.

Required Skills:
10+ years of product engineering experience working with server/storage vendors in product development, management activities

Expert in C/C++ programming

Expert in device driver development

Expert in developing highly available, scalable, fault tolerant, and reliable products

Managed projects in traditional (Waterfall) and in iterative models

Familiarity with test strategies, methods to validate servers and storage devices

Familiarity with clusters, file systems, data protection technologies

Familiarity with embedded software development

Familiarity with Java programming

Linux kernel programming experience is preferred but not mandatory

Experienced in business development activities

Ability to visualize usage scenarios in how the products are used in enterprise scenario

Ability to interact with senior management (VP, CXO)

Ability to work in a matrix environment

Familiar to working with geographically distributed teams

Excellent verbal, written communication skills
