Enterprise Video Conferencing Architect is an infrastructure design and administration role, with subject matter expertise in multiple Video Conferencing and supporting technologies.
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Maintains relationships with Video Conferencing Technology vendors and Audio/Visual (A/V) integrators. As change agents, have full awareness of emerging technologies, standards adoption, and unified collaboration strategies.
Facilitates the growth of video conferencing within Chevron and collaborates with other IT groups to ensure that computing infrastructures such as Network, Desktop Design, and Server domains are capable of supporting the Video Conferencing demand.
Studies Video Conference implementations at other companies to gain lessons learned and best practices that may be utilized within Chevron.
Maintains global alignment regarding video conferencing with Regional Technical Leads, Back office/Server Technicians, Schedulers, Endpoint Technicians, and Endpoint Designers by coordinating recurring knowledge sharing and alignment meetings.
Leads and\or participates in the Governance Boards and is responsible for the effectiveness and deliverables of Governance Board activities.
Provides direct technical support of Audio and Video Conferencing events & operations, with special awareness, prioritization, and support of Executive meetings.
Provides on-call assistance and live monitoring of meetings, per customer requirements.
Participates with Chevron’s IT A/V governance bodies to develop and maintain technology standards and change management processes.
Assists in the creation of standards that are deployable, repeatable, and supportable. Continuously assess network utilization & impact, network architecture design, and security.
Works with other IT groups to improve overall architecture.
Understands emerging A/V & IT technologies impact on deployment within Chevron (not limited to Video Conferencing).
Prepares for Chevron’s future A/V & IT requirements and takes part in developing plans for Chevron A/V systems with global communication capabilities.
Develops strategic alliances with outside sources that support Chevron’s A/V goals.
Improves A/V support model by actively working with other Chevron IT A/V specialists and managers to form relationships, build cross-functional support agreements, and identify & resolve support deficiencies.
Prepares an A/V crisis response plan and have resources internal and external to support the effort.
Participates in the development of easy-to-use end-user processes that allow self-serve usage of Audio and Video conferencing systems (in a way that doesn’t disrupt the integrity of the systems).
Promotes communication of highly technical information in a way that those with diverse levels of understanding have meaningful dialog.
Participates as a member of shared services teams to develop and encourage teamwork; encourages diversity, builds collaboration, pushes out decision making, facilitates conflict resolution and creates supportive environment by eliminating barriers.
Facilitates the development and execution of team goals.
Adheres to and follows safe work habits in compliance with Chevron Safety practices.
Works closely with enterprise compliance teams to ensure work processes within their domain are in compliance with all US laws, corporate policies and procedures for the company
Responsible for supporting and meeting defined Video Conferencing requirements within the Chevron infrastructure. Support will include but not be limited to the support of the following Cisco equipment: MCU, Border Controller, Content Server, VCS, Telepresence Management Suite, Jabber and Video Conference room solutions. Support will evolve based on any new system or infrastructure acquisitions and implementations.
May require occasional work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years experience in support and troubleshooting Tandberg\Cisco video conferencing systems and infrastructure. Working knowledge of all aspects of video conferencing technologies (Including room/desktop systems, MCU's, Gateway, Gatekeeper, Expressway and room control systems over IP and ISDN networks)
Experience in service desk technical customer support environment
Good knowledge of technical service processes, i.e. trouble tickets, service requests, escalation processes, etc.
High level of knowledge of telecommunications standards such as H.323 and H.320
Working knowledge of videoconferencing protocols including (but not limited to) H.264, G.711, H.239, SIP, and Assent
Experience with audio and video in highly integrated A/V conferencing environments
Skilled in PC and Microsoft Office applications
Basic Microsoft Windows Server administration knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Linux Operating System administration knowledge
Microsoft Lync implementation and support
Cisco Unified Communications Server experience
Cisco Unified Communications Manager experience
Convergence of Web and Video conferencing environments
Cisco TelePresence Installation and Configuration Training (TICT)
Cisco TelePresence Troubleshooting Training (TTST)
Cisco Certified Network Associate Video (CCNA Video)
Project Management / Business Analysis skill – Experience in project scope evaluation, planning, tracking, quality control, and change management as applied to technology deployments.
Works well under pressure to balance priorities and meet deadlines
Experience with large, complex, global conferencing systems infrastructure, design, and administration
Relocation will not be considered.
