Chevron Information Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Enterprise Video Streaming Analyst located in Houston, TX through May 2, 2014.

Overview:

Enterprise Video Streaming Analyst is an infrastructure design and administration role, with subject matter expertise in video streaming systems and supporting technologies.

Position Details:
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Supports global Windows server infrastructure (Windows Media Services), and associated jobs/processes.
  • Works with DBA’s for database maintenance, design, and changes.
  • Consults with various business partners on Webcast capabilities and benefits.
  • Work with PGPA on the design and maintenance of the Chevron TV application.
  • Works with CBRES Digital Media Team, and their clients, on the production of Live Webcasts: event page design with web team, network multicast testing, show rehearsals, real-time support.
  • Maintains all portable (non-server) Webcast equipment for compliance and conducts scheduled health-checks. Upgrade equipment as needed.
  • Works with Digital Media on technical challenges and optimization of the real-time capturing solution from Polycom.
  • Maintains alignment with Network Assets on multicast capabilities across Chevron.
  • Serves as a technical resource for streaming media encoding standards.
  • Provides direct support for daily on-demand publishing workflow of media content: processing, verifying daily limits, check scheduled publishing tasks, verify logs, global replication, and timely delivery of on-demand links.
  • Facilitates the growth of Webcasting within Chevron and collaborates with other IT groups to ensure that computing infrastructures such as Network, Desktop Design, and Server domains are capable of supporting the Webcast demand.
  • Maintains alignment with SDI team on infrastructure updates that impact our WMS delivery.
  • Maintains awareness around steaming media technologies and standards
  • Maintains close relationship with vendors and has full awareness of emerging technologies in the Webcasting area.
  • Studies Webcast and real-time capture implementations at other companies to gain lessons learned and best practices that may be utilized within Chevron.
  • Maintains alliance with extended Real-Time Communication team on the convergence of real-time collaboration technologies within Chevron (VC, WebEx, Webcast). Provides technical experience and expertise in the Webcast domain for these technologies to work together.
  • Facilitates the timely completion of compliance (IRM) tasks related to the Webcast environment and seeks opportunities for efficiencies in the process.
  • Works with Digital Media Team to resolve any technical challenges related to media encoding.
  • Incorporates change management for infrastructure changes.
  • Assists in the creation of standards that are deployable, repeatable, and supportable. Continuously assess network utilization & impact, network architecture design, and security.
  • Works with other IT groups to improve overall architecture.
  • Understands emerging A/V & IT technologies impact on deployment within Chevron (not limited to video streaming).
  • Prepares for Chevron’s future A/V & IT requirements and takes part in developing plans for Chevron A/V systems with global communication capabilities.
  • Develops strategic alliances with outside sources that support Chevron’s A/V goals.
  • Improves A/V support model by actively working with other Chevron IT A/V specialists and managers to form relationships, build cross-functional support agreements, and identify & resolve support deficiencies.
  • Promotes communication of highly technical information in a way that those with diverse levels of understanding have meaningful dialog.
  • Participates as a member of shared services teams to develop and encourage teamwork; encourages diversity, builds collaboration, pushes out decision making, facilitates conflict resolution and creates supportive environment by eliminating barriers.
  • Facilitates the development and execution of team goals.
  • Adheres to and follows safe work habits in compliance with Chevron Safety practices.
  • Works closely with enterprise compliance teams to ensure work processes within their domain are in compliance with all US laws, corporate policies and procedures for the company

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in support and troubleshooting video streaming systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of technical service processes, i.e. trouble tickets, service requests, escalation processes, etc.
  • Experience with audio and video in highly produced video productions
  • Skilled in PC and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong Microsoft Windows Server administration knowledge (2003, 2008)
  • Strong Microsoft IIS administration knowledge (2003, 2008)

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Linux Operating System administration knowledge
  • Microsoft Lync implementation and support
  • Cisco Unified Communications Server experience
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager experience
  • Cisco WebEx experience
  • Convergence of Web and Video conferencing environments
  • Project Management / Business Analysis skill – Experience in project scope evaluation, planning, tracking, quality control, and change management as applied to technology deployments.
  • Works well under pressure to balance priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience with large, complex, global conferencing systems infrastructure, design, and administration
