This position reports directly to the Manager - EAR Pipe Integrity Engineering - Program Implementation but will work under the direction of senior engineering staff.
The individual will work as a Junior Engineer supporting a variety of pipeline integrity projects involving the company's existing natural gas and liquid pipeline systems across the U.S.
Position Description Responsibilities:
oPlanning, on-site assistance, and post run follow-up for in-line inspection projects including outage coordination, scheduling of contractor and company personnel, coordination of GPS survey, and reading and interpreting inspection results.
- Provide support and assistance to Field Engineers in the following areas:
oPlanning and on-site assistance for pipeline remediation projects including recoating, and in-line inspection anomaly digs.
oPlanning and on-site assistance for inspection and remediation of river crossings and geotechnical hazards.
oCompiling project related records and reports.
oDetermine options and make recommendations for remediation of operational or safety concerns at river crossings, areas of shallow cover, exposed pipe and ground instability.
oReview encroachments affecting the pipeline right of way including performing loading analysis calculations and analysis of blasting activities. Make recommendations based these reviews.
oProvide on-site assistance during failure investigations including repair and restoration of service.
oReview, revise and prepare processes and procedures.
oKnowledge of 49CFR Part 192, 49CFR Part 195, and related industry standards is an asset.
oExceptional interpersonal skills are required for this position as typical projects utilize an extended project team from Field Operations, Field Specialists, Reliability Engineers, Business Development, Planning, Project Management, Drafting, Supply
Chain, Communications, Information Technology and Gas Control as well as outside vendors, surveyors, third-party engineering, and installation contractors.
oKnowledge of in-line inspection tools and pipeline condition evaluations is an asset.
oA valid driver's license is required.
oProficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of software applications is required.
Education/Experience & Comments:
oThis position requires a BS degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited University or College
oPrevious experience in the design, operation and construction of natural gas transmission or related facilities(1-4 years of experience).
oExperience in hazardous liquid pipeline operation is a plus.
oTypically (30%) overnight travel with seasonal variation based on project schedules.
