General Summary:

An Entry Level Engineer may have responsibilities such as the review of current internal and external quality indicators, to ensure quality of parts provided by suppliers, to analyze production and quality performance, to coordinate activities with various suppliers and contractors, to work with production staff to continuously improve overall performance, and to perform engineering functions and responsibilities in support of production areas.

Typical ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Continually strive for improvements and excellence in all facets of the business
  • Monitor and review current internal and external quality indicators and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead problem solving activities to ensure the quality of products including development of short and long term countermeasures
  • Review and evaluate current processes and compare with the latest technology capabilities
  • Analyze daily and monthly downtime and create countermeasures to help reduce future downtime
  • Obtain the ability to understand global business and diverse backgrounds and meet the needs of customers
  • Ensure the resolution of production related issues between areas
  • Analyze trend data using available indicators and develop, implement, and follow-up with countermeasures to existing production concerns
  • Plan for and ensure the quality of supplied parts through collaborative partnerships within the company and with suppliers
  • Analyze defects for appropriate root cause determination
  • Evaluate, plan and implement new model launches including equipment, tooling, process sheets, and work instructions
  • Request materials and equipment needed to prepare for production
  • Plan, design, and implement tools, production aids, assist devices, etc. required for production
  • Report current projects, progress and issues to management; prepare presentations and reports
  • Prepare detailed plans, reports, and schedules
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive ergonomics program in production
  • Monitor local and federal laws, regulations, and rules
  • Develop training materials and plans for team members in support of Group Leaders
  • Implement and enforce all policies and standards
QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree in an engineering field along with zero (0) to two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience

SPECIALIZED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
