The Systems Automation and Monitoring team has primary responsibility for the Enterprise Monitoring tools and processes. The technology areas include distributed processing platforms (Intel, Unix and Linux), networks, as well as several application specific hardware platforms (voice systems, network appliances and storage systems). This opening will focus on distributed monitoring with possible growth across all areas of the team. The team employs a variety of tools to provide this service and the candidate should have knowledge and/or understanding in various programming languages used in automation – SHL and PERL scripting, Visual Basic will be the primary languages.
This position requires a minimum of two years of background and experience in distributed systems, including operation and administration. Candidates should also possess a bachelor's degree in IT or a related area or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. The candidate should be familiar with the operating systems and have some knowledge and experience with the primary programming languages used in support of distributed systems and applications. Understanding and experience in application development methodology is a plus. Strict change management disciplines are required for this area.
The candidate should have a knowledge and understanding of network (LAN and WAN) function and hardware, including transmission protocols, SNMP and MIB processing. Having knowledge of networking hardware, its operation and function is necessary to understand monitoring and automation objectives.
The Systems Automation and Monitoring team works with many different teams to deliver its services and is involved in a variety of projects and activities throughout the year. Communication skills are a must for the candidate considering this position. Listening, verbal and written communication skills are important as we play the role of consultant quite often.

Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule:
Entry Salary guidelines: $44,500 - $59,000 - $73,500
Expected Starting Salary Range: $50,200 - $64,900
This position is also bonus eligible.
This position is classified as non-exempt for purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Intermediate Salary guidelines: $54,500 - $72,500 - $90,000
Expected Starting Salary Range: $61,600 - $79,800
This position is also bonus eligible.
This position is classified as exempt for purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
