Representative responsibility is twofold: to assist in handling environmental energy programs and perform compliance monitoring required to reduce Ryder’s liability and costs resulting from regulatory enforcement actions by tracking violations, follow-up and responses. Position will also monitor and coordinate government grant incentives and assist Director in communication of Ryder Environmental best practices, procedures and initiatives.

Assistant Environmental Analyst serves a critical interface between Corporate Environmental energy management program and cost savings activities at Ryder field operations. This role is also important to evaluating, educating and reinforcing awareness and actions of field personnel responsible for day to day Env. Compliance issues of the Company. The Assistant Analyst position will play a central role in both supporting and implementing Ryder’s environmental compliance audits throughout the organization and supporting natural gas incentive grant applications when they arise.

This position will support Department Director & Managers in developing and disseminating compliance & awareness communications related to energy efficiency initiatives and environmental compliance programs, and providing administrative support necessary to update Ryder environmental policies & procedures within the Corporate Environmental Policy & Control compliance manual.

Bachelor’s degree with course work in business or environmental, or working to degree and five or more of related work experience required.

Additional Requirements:

Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access required.

Legal, Human Resources project management or audit experience preferred. This position will require extensive communication with Ryder field personnel and state agencies.

Strong analytical, good oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to work in a fast paced, pressured environment and capable of working independently and as a team.

Strong and proven command of technical writing and proofreading skills including correct grammar.

Perform energy use & data analysis related to FMS utility reports, document and report trends

Research energy & natural gas rebate programs based on pre-identified priority areas, disseminate reports to environmental or other departments supporting assigned client field groups on energy and compliance related environmental company policies and procedural matters.

Review and follow-up on regulatory violations to ensure all corrective actions completed; review violation findings & notes for completeness. Build strong business partner alliances among Field Operations to ensure that the Company complies with environmental laws and policies.

Prepare compliance reports/communications - provide field based FMS employees with quick and easy access to Company-mandated environmental policies, procedures, forms, and related materials in easy to understand and consistent formatting.

Interview field-based employees or when appropriate coordinate with other Env and Ryder team member in preparing reports; work with Group Director and ES Field Services group to perform trend analysis on regulatory inspections and recommend training & policy program changes as needed; report inspection findings based on location, nature of violation and the resolution.
