A Staff Environmental Engineer proficient in CAD is sought to be a part of a highly motivated environmental engineering and scientific services team that executes projects for mining, power, natural gas, and manufacturing companies in the Southeastern United States. Project work is primarily design of solid waste landfills, stream restoration, groundwater treatment systems, waste water conveyance and treatment, wetlands systems, and acid-mine drainage treatment systems. An Engineer In Training (EIT) is sought that also has advanced CAD skills. The ideal candidate will have advanced capabilities in Autodesk or Bentley to support landfill design, remedial design renderings, floodplain mapping. The Staff Engineer will report directly to the Senior Environmental Engineer and support technical designs from concept through alternative development, costing, feasibility, and detailed design phases.

Job Requirements: The candidate should have a strong problem-solving aptitude and an ability to research many options and select an appropriate alternative. We seek an engineer with field experience and technical design ability that can define all aspects of a problem, identify alternatives, and develop a design for a final solution. An ability to understand the detailed consequences of differing alternatives is sought. The candidate should be adept at listing alternative implications, communicating engineering options, cost- benefits, and identifying permit requirements. The candidate should understand and define the process work flow required for engineering design development.

Other Required Skills: The candidate will utilize advanced Autodesk or Bentley applications to support remedial design planning, landfill design, stream design, environmental impact corridor studies, and watershed flood event modeling. The Candidate should be very motivated, have the ability to carry a project to completion, and have a desire to grow in the environmental engineering discipline. The job will require strong commitment, ability to work through problems, and a service oriented attitude.
