  • Support the operation of a 24x7 Solar Cell manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and implement safety program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, utilizing knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Oversee job hazard assessment.
  • Evaluate plans and specifications for new chemicals and gases, machinery and processes to determine all necessary safety precautions are being managed.
  • Tour plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Determine requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs, or directs installation of safety devices on machinery
  • Conduct and coordinate safety and first aid training to educate workers about safety policies, laws, and practices.
  • Investigate accidents to prevent recurrence and prepares accident reports.
  • Conduct air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.
  • Manage all aspect of the facilities regulatory compliance programs, including wastewater.
  • Interface with government regulatory and compliance agencies.
  • Support a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives.
  • Work with R&D to evaluate and aggressively implement new technology.
  • Manage facilities hazardous waste program.
  • Support DOT shipping requirement of warehouse.
  • Manage facilities Emergency Response Team and related programs.
  • Manage Worker’s compensation program.
  • Manage facilities Life Safety systems vendor contracts.
  • Maintain facility safety metrics.
  • Manage all aspects and requirements for OSHA programs.

  • Four-year degree in a technical field, (Engineering preferred).
  • 3 to 5+ years experience as a Safety Professional.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations required.
  • CSP, CHMM and/or CIH Certifications preferred.
  • GA State Industrial Wastewater License preferred.
  • HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals preferred.
  • Experience in Photovoltaics or other Semiconductor manufacturing is desirable.
  • Experience working in ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
