The EHS Assistant will assist the Manager of the Environmental, Health and Safety Department in providing a safer work environment for employees of Farouk Systems, Inc. Assist with employee relations within the company on safety related issues. Assist with investigation of employee injuries, near misses and situations where safety procedures are not followed. Support the implementation and updating of safety policies.

Duties & Responsibilities Required:

Maintain organization of all department records and files
· Create and maintain documentation of safety trainings
· Conduct New Hire safety training on a regular basis
· Schedule and assist with all other safety training sessions
· Order safety supplies for different departments
· Maintain tracking of supplies and dispersal to employees
· Assist in accident investigations including performing accident reports
· Respond to safety and health accidents or incidents are needed
· Assist with management of Worker’s Compensation
· Assist with management of safety committee
· Provide support and assistance in the preparation, compilation and distribution of safety reports
· Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Required:
·
1-2 years of experience in occupational safety
· Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
· Knowledge of Texas Worker’s Compensation laws a plus
· OSHA 10 Certification (or willing to complete)
Skills Required:
·
Proficiency with computers (E-mail, Microsoft Office, Windows, Internet Explorer)
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a must
· Effective at conducting trainings
· Ability to communicate with employees at all levels
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision
· Detail-oriented
· Multi-tasker
· Critical Thinking
