The City and County of Denver is seeking a motivated and creative student with a background in environmental, business or policy issues to assist in the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) for the City.
This is a limited, part-time (20 hours per week) position with an end date of 12/31/13.
This position will work with the EMS Team on the development and implementation of a City-wide EMS. The position will assist in the administration, maintenance and development of tools used to implement the EMS.
This position will also research best management practices, assist in document control and management, develop documentation, and compile new and existing information into databases. In addition, the position will assist in research and analysis on a variety of sustainability-related projects.
Requires completion of 60 credit hours or completion of an Associate's Degree and current enrollment in a college program leading to a Baccalaureate Degree or higher Degree in Environmental Policy/Management, Resource Management, Political Science, Public Administration, Planning or Business, or a related field. Continued enrollment in a college program is a condition of employment for this class. Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent writing and broad communication skills is required .
Experience working on environmental management systems is preferred.
Experience working on, or knowledge of, Environmental Management Systems
Knowledge and/or expertise in environmental policy, management, business, or public policy are highly desired. Licensure/Certification:
Possession of a valid driver’s license required at the time of application.
