Position: Environmental Program ManagerReports To: COOSummary: The Environmental Program Manager (EPM) is responsible for providing support to Executive Management and the HSE&R Department in the development and implementation of environmental programs for W&T’s company-wide operations. The Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations and company standards including SEMS, NPDES, and all onshore environmental regulations. The EPM will also assist in the development and delivery of training and compliance for W&T employees and contractors. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable influencing and helping field level employees as well as engaging with senior level W&T executive management and senior officials at regulatory agencies.

In this role you will work hand in hand with the Drilling, Production and Facilities Departments to ensure compliance and to train and audit offshore employees and contractors.

Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintain compliance with environmental regulations including SEMS, NPDES, Clean Water Act, and others as applicable.Ensure and strengthen internal systems and protocols to ensure compliance with company standards. Develop continuous improvement program and proactively mature and evolve the company’s environmental programs, standards and policies; prepare recommendations to Executive Management for policies models and updates. Communicate with executive management, production and drilling managers, the HSE&R Manager and others on a regular basis to ensure that all parties are up to date on the latest facility compliance issues and activities.Conduct regular compliance audits at company facilities and locations to ensure that the proper pollution prevention equipment is installed and maintained and personnel are performing the required tasks in compliance with regulations.Communicate with regulatory agencies, as applicable, to maintain good relationships between the agencies and W&T.Revise procedures, processes, manuals, plans, training programs, etc.

as needed.Assist in the implementation of a computer-based Environmental Management System for tracking compliance with SEMS and NPDES, at a minimum.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management, Science, Engineering or equivalent.10 to 15 years of hands on Environmental experience.Demonstrated skills working with field personnel as well as executive managers both at corporations and government agencies.Ability to audit facilities and personnel for regulatory compliance, effectively communicate the results to management and work with facilities to attain compliance.Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships at both the field and management level.Excellent written oral and communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of the Clean Water Act, OPA 90, NPDES and SEMS.Demonstrated ability to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously.Self motivated with the ability to adapt work schedule as needed to accomplish objectives. Preferred Qualifications: 15 to 20 years of hands on Environmental experience.Experience working in the upstream oil & gas industry.Experience with NPDES and SEMS compliance. Working Conditions: Office environment preparing documents and training personnel, and offshore environment for evaluating pollution prevention equipment and auditing facilities and personnel.Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) as appropriate when evaluating site(s) or equipment.Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing steps and/or ladders to inspect equipment when necessary.Requires operation of a personal computer.
