Coordinates, inspects, and monitors plans and projects affecting the environment, including NPDES permit, sewer spills, soil erosion, sediment control, vegetation protection and replacement, wetlands protection, and other environmental activities and permitting.
Assists Stormwater Engineering Supervisor on various divisional tasks including, but not limited to, County NPDES permit compliance.
Inspects and evaluates plans to ensure proposed and actual projects are in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines.
Establishes and supports adopt-a-stream programs.
Investigates sanitary sewer spills as needed.
Facilitates quarterly watershed workshops.
Reviews modification construction plans for land development, infrastructure construction, infrastructure maintenance or other land disturbing activities.
Trains Inspection staff on inspection of outfalls, commercial and residential ponds, stream walks etc.
Develops information packages for public on various NPDES permit issues and perform inspections as necessary.
Issues citations and stop work orders for non-compliance with directives.
Coordinates, gathers and keeps necessary inspection records on Industrial facilities, County facilities, stormwater ponds and outfalls.
Coordinates and schedules Streamwalks and keep accurate records for reporting.
Monitors and keeps records of various Watershed improvement projects.
Prepares reports or other documentation on activities as required.
Assist in preparing divisional budget preparation and tracking.
Associate’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Health/Science or, or related field; three years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting and investigation. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License. A GSWCC Level IB certification is required within six months. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
