Parsons Brinckerhoff is looking for an Environmental Scientist. Under close supervision the Environmental Scientist performs various environmental assignments of limited scope which requires the application of standards techniques and procedures.
Candidates must have Phase II environmental investigation or remediation oversight with a strong working knowledge of Phase II site investigations, including petroleum spill delineation and regulatory agency interaction
Perform routine air quality, water quality, and/or hazardous waste or related studies, inspections, and assessments
Construction environmental compliance oversight experience is a plus
All candidates must have excellent analytical and time management skills, be able to work independently or in a team and be comfortanle in either a field or office environment
Gather and analyzes data and prepare reports of findings
Participates in the identification of sources of pollution and development of corrective or preventive action plans
Assists in the investigation of complaints regarding environmental problems and prepares documentation of violations and develops and recommends procedures; responds to environmental emergencies
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science field. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
Strong verbal communication and excellent report writing skills, with a desire to work in a professional, team-orientated atmosphere
